Bariatric Transporation

HealthLink Medical Transportation has an emergency vehicle specifically designed to provide safe transportation for patients with body weight in excess of standard equipment limitations (400 lbs).   Our bariatric unit can be staffed at any level of service from BLS to critical care.  The bariatric stretcher is several inches greater in width than a typical stretcher, has strategically placed seatbelts, and can hold up to 1500 pounds.  The bariatric ambulance has a motorized winch and ramps for loading patients smoothly; this unit is used upon request or when a patient meets these weight criteria.
